Of the most widely loved Verdi masterpieces Un Ballo in Maschera has always evaded my affections. But Solti has made me love it. There is some fine music in it, some great arias and ensembles to be sure, and the story is interesting as well but was nobbled by the censors who made Verdi relocate from Stockholm to Boston.
