El palacio de Celle tiene su origen en una torre fortificada ( Wehrturm) con el carácter de un castillo con foso, que guardaba un vado en el río Aller. Esta primera fortificación, llamada Kellu, fue construida por un conde Brunonen alrededor del año 980.

Celle Castle (German: Schloss Celle) or, less commonly, Celle Palace, in the German town of Celle in Lower Saxony, was one of the residences of the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg. This quadrangular building is the largest castle in the southern Lüneburg Heath region.

30 de jun. de 2023 · Table of Contents. Schloss Celle History. Originally built around 980, Celle Castle started life as a fortified tower that guarded a crossing over the Aller River. It was expanded by Otto II in 1292. There are still parts of the building from this time in the cellar and under the watch tower.
