The third novella (Wakefulness) moves well ahead in time. Here we meet Ales (not to be confused with Asle). She is the daughter of Alida and though Alida is long since dead, not for the only time in a Fosse novel, the deceased Alida still lives with Ales and talks to her.

6 de oct. de 2023 · This is a poignant love story set in Bergen, and it consists of the three novellas Wakefulness, Olav's Dreams, and Weariness, all translated into English by May-Brit Akerholt. Jon Fosse was awarded the Nordic Council’s Prize for Literature for the novellas in 2015.
