Walter de Clifford (1113–1190) [1] (known before the 1130s as Walter FitzRichard [2]) was an Anglo-Norman Marcher Lord of Bronllys Castle on the Welsh border, and was feudal baron of Clifford, seated at Clifford Castle in Herefordshire .

24 de dic. de 2020 · "Clifford, Walter de (d. 1190), landowner and soldier, was the son of Richard fitz Pons and Maud, the daughter of Walter of Gloucester. Richard was still alive in 1128 but had died by 1138, when Walter de Clifford exchanged his manor of Glasbury for that of Esleche held by Gloucester Abbey.

"Of Clifford, Herefordshire, Cortham (in Diddlebury), Shropshire, Caenby, Lincolnshire, etc., and Bronllys, Breconshire, etc., Sheriff of Herefordshire, Constable of Cardigan and Carmarthen Castles. In 1211 Walter accompanied the king to Ireland. In 1215 he was made custodian of the lands of the See of Hereford.
