Warren Hastings Político y administrador colonial británico Nació el 6 de diciembre de 1732 en Churchill, Oxfordshire (Inglaterra). Cursó estudios en el Colegio Westminister de Londres. Posteriormente se traslada a la India como funcionario de la Compañía de las Indias Orientales. En 1772 ocupó el gobierno de Bengala.

Warren Hastings was a British colonial administrator who served as the first Governor of the Presidency of Fort William (Bengal), the head of the Supreme Council of Bengal, and thus the first de facto Governor-General of Bengal from 1772 to 1818. He and Robert Clive are credited with establishing the British Empire in India.
