  6. Weir of Hermiston, based on the unfinished novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, was a four-part BBC Scotland Television Drama first broadcast on network BBC-1 from 15 February to 8 March 1973. Dramatised by Tom Wright, it starred Tom Fleming as Adam Weir, with Edith Macarthur, Leonard Maguire, Callum Mill and David Rintoul.

  7. Weir of Hermiston (1896) is an unfinished novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is markedly different from his previous works in style and has often been praised as a potential masterpiece. It was cut short by Stevenson's sudden death in 1894 from a cerebral haemorrhage. The novel is set at the time of the Napoleonic Wars.
