North Germanic languages are not uniformly VO; even abstracting away from Object Shift (see Holmberg Reference Holmberg 1986 ), modern Icelandic permits OV with negative and quantified objects (Hróarsdóttir Reference Hróarsdóttir 2000 :56f.).
