William Cavendish, 7th Duke of Devonshire, KG, PC (27 April 1808 – 21 December 1891), styled Lord Cavendish of Keighley between 1831 and 1834 and Earl of Burlington between 1834 and 1858, was a British landowner, benefactor, nobleman, and politician. Early life.

The 7th Duke of Devonshire was an accomplished scholar and became Chancellor of London University at just 28 years old. William Cavendish, 2nd Earl of Burlington of the second creation, became the 7th Duke of Devonshire in 1858. He was grandson of the 6th Duke 's uncle, Lord George Cavendish.

William Cavendish (1808-91), 7th Duke of Devonshire, landowner and industrialist, was born on 27 April 1808, in Charles Street, Berkeley Square, London. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge, and took his BA and MA in 1829, and in June 1829 he was returned as MP for Cambridge University.
