Christian Cavendish, Countess of Devonshire ( née Bruce; 1595–1675) was an influential Scottish landowner and royalist. Life. Christian Bruce was the daughter of Edward Bruce, 1st Lord Kinloss and Master of the Rolls, and Magdalen Clerk, whose Scottish residence was Culross House in Fife.

Biography. Christian Bruce was the only daughter of Edward Bruce Commendator of Kinloss and later Lord Bruce of Kinloss, a Scottish Lord who served as Ambassador to England (1600) and his wife Magdalene Clerk. Christian married William Cavendish, 2nd Earl of Devonshire becoming Countess of Devonshire.
