Hace 6 días · William Chambers built several garden structures, including the lofty Great Pagoda built in 1761 which still remains. George III enriched the gardens, aided by William Aiton and Sir Joseph Banks. The old Kew Park (by then renamed the White House), was demolished in 1802.

Hace 20 horas · At a public meeting in Edinburgh City Chambers on 1 November 1867, William Chambers, publisher and Lord Provost of Edinburgh, first advanced his ambition to remove the internal partitions and restore St Giles' as a "Westminster Abbey for Scotland". Chambers commissioned Robert Morham to produce initial plans.

Hace 2 días · William Paris Chambers was a renowned cornetist born in Newport, Perry County on November 1, 1854. He moved to Newville at the age of 10. Six months after joining the Keystone Coronet Band in Newville he became the leader. A short two years later he was chosen as bandmaster of the Capital City Band of Harrisburg.

Vanderveer and Clarence Thomas and the 19 rank Moler Pipe Organ from Mr. Kenneth and Mrs. Almira Synder. This organ was first built in the home of the Snyders in Kenilworth, a suburb of Chicago.
