9 de abr. de 2020 · Rural Rides is the book for which the English journalist, agriculturist and political reformer William Cobbett is best known. At the time of writing Rural Rides, in the early 1820s, Cobbett was a radical anti-Corn Law campaigner. He embarked on a series of journeys by horseback through the countryside of Southeast England and the English Midlands.
COBBETT, William (1766-1835), one of the most vigorous of English political writers, was born near Farn- ham in Surrey, according to his own statement, on the 9th March 1766. He was the grandson of a farm-labourer, and the son of a small farmer ; and during his early life he worked on his father s farm.
