William Denison, 1st Earl of Londesborough. Baron Londesborough, of Londesborough in the East Riding of the County of York, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1850 for the diplomat and Whig politician Lord Albert Denison. He was the third son of Henry Conyngham, 1st Marquess Conyngham, and his wife Elizabeth Denison.

Manuscripts and Special Collections. Biography of Sir William Thomas Denison (1804-1871) William was the third surviving son of John Denison (c.1759-1820), who as John Wilkinson had inherited the Ossington estate in Nottinghamshire.
Most of William Denison's estates passed, after the death of Robert Denison, to his nephew John Wilkinson. The Leeds estates were devised jointly to John Wilkinson and his brother Edward Wilkinson in order for them to continue running the business of William Denison and Company.
