William Villers, 2nd Earl of Jersey (c. 1682 – 13 July 1721), known as Viscount Villiers from 1697 to 1711, was an English peer and politician from the Villiers family. Jersey was the son of Edward Villiers, 1st Earl of Jersey and his wife Barbara, daughter of William Chiffinch .

The 1st Earl of Jersey's sister, Elizabeth Villiers († 1733), was the presumed mistress of King William III of England from 1680 until 1695. Thomas Villiers († 1786), the second son of the 2nd Earl of Jersey, was created Baron Hyde and Earl of Clarendon in 1776.

In August 1711 Villiers succeeded his father as earl of Jersey. Shortly after succeeding to the peerage, he was elected to The Society, the group of which Jonathan Swift, Charles Talbot , duke of Shrewsbury, and Jersey’s brother-in-law, George Granville , later Baron Lansdowne, were members.
He is the eldest son of George Henry Villiers, Viscount Villiers (1948–1998), eldest son of the ninth Earl. Lord Jersey is an actor, writer and producer, known professionally as William Villiers. [1] [3] The heirs apparent to the earldom alternate the use of the two viscomital titles as their courtesy title.
