Hace 7 horas · Solon Bailey initiated the study of globular clusters in the Harvard observatory at the end of the nineteenth centuries and detected a number of variable stars with periods under a day and change in magnitude by one magnitude. Finally, they were called RR Lyrae variables after the bright star of the type discovered by Williamina Fleming in 1899.
