Young Lions is the fifth solo album by Adrian Belew released in May 1990 by Atlantic Records. The album featured David Bowie singing on two tracks, "Pretty Pink Rose" and "Gunman", the latter of which Bowie and Belew co-wrote since he was acting as musical director and lead guitarist on the Sound+Vision Tour with Bowie. 31 de may. de 2020 · Issued ahead of the Adrian Belew album, Young Lions, from whence it came, Pretty Pink Rose was a Bowie composition billed as a duet and performed practically every night on the 1990 Sound + Vision Tour. The song does seem to divide fans, but perhaps not quite as much as the video featuring Bowie, Belew and Julie T. Wallace.
22 de may. de 2023 · David Bowie: vocals Adrian Belew: vocals, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, synthesizer, drum machine. Written by David Bowie, ‘Pretty Pink Rose’ was recorded with Adrian Belew for the latter’s Young Lions album. Bowie had demoed the song in Los Angeles in early 1988.
During the 1970s, Bowie covered three songs by singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen (pictured in 2012): "Growin' Up", "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City" and "Spirit in the Night" (the last of which for the 1973 Astronettes project). All three would later appear on compilations albums.
