Ooh, maybe S2 Vox will do things like flash Alastor with bright light and bait him into using his antlers through bluffing challenges. He uses Vox's natural weaknesses against him, like overloading his system and video distortion, so Vox could use Alastor's... maybe hire Hell hounds to chase him/harass him, when he figures out his distaste/fear for dogs.

Sometime after he was hired, but before he arrived at the school, he was kidnapped by Barty Crouch Jr. and kept locked up for most of the school year.
