3 de mar. de 2023 · “Alberto Giacometti: Toward the Ultimate Figure,” on view from March 18 through June 18, 2023, will explore both the artist’s formation and how he developed his iconic figural works. Organized by the Fondation Giacometti in Paris, the largest collection of the artist’s works, the exhibition features approximately 100 works in all media from all phases of Giacometti’s career.

10. februar 2024 åbner SMK udstillingen Alberto Giacometti – Hvad øjet ser, som udfolder fortællingen om Giacometti på tværs af hans forskellige kunstformer: skulptur, maleri, grafik og tegning. Den omfattende udstilling tager afsæt i SMK’s samling, der indeholder flere af Giacomettis væsentlige værker på papir.

The critics were nice to him, and Jean Cocteau even wrote that he had seen sculptures by Giacometti that are so powerful, and yet delicate, that one wants to describe them as snow preserving the footprint of a bird .
