The Great American Songbook Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire and educate by celebrating the Great American Songbook. Michael Feinstein 's lifetime interest in, and immense knowledge of, the music of the Great American Songbook led him to found the organization in 2007.
The Foundation is a Dutch non-profit organization, aiming for the preservation and promotion of the valuable cultural heritage of The American Songbook in the Netherlands. To this end multiple concepts for theater, concerts, radio and several other media, are developed, the essence being the “classical” American popular music.
