Cymone later co-wrote and produced hit songs for other acts, including his then wife Jody Watley's "Looking for a New Love" and "Real Love". With his futurist Minneapolis vision, Cymone has been credited with creating some of the most innovative music in between the late 1970s and 1980s, and is regarded as an unsung architect of Minneapolis' identity as a music capital.

What’s also known about Cymone is that he was Prince’s childhood best friend and his family actually took Prince in when they were kids, after Prince’s father kicked him outta the house.
26 de feb. de 2018 · Born Andre Simon Anderson in 1958, Cymone was always more than merely a hired yes-man in Prince’s retinue. He and Prince were childhood friends, even living together for a period, and formed their first band, Grand Central, before the shorter fella’s career took off.

By 1977, Husney had landed Cymone a two-album deal with Columbia Records; recording sessions commenced that September at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California.
