Anne Seymour, Duchess of Somerset (née Stanhope; before 1512 – 16 April 1587) was the second wife of Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset (c. 1500–1552), who held the office of Lord Protector during the first part of the reign of their nephew King Edward VI. The Duchess was briefly the most powerful woman in England.

Previously, Anne had been in the household of Kateryn Parr, but now Parr was a dowager queen and Anne became Duchess of Somerset and the wife of the Lord Protector – essentially she was the most powerful women in England.
Hace 3 días · Anne Stanhope, Duchess of Somerset is buried in St Nicholas' chapel in Westminster Abbey and has a large monument there. This is mainly of alabaster with an effigy of the Duchess in a red ermine-lined robe wearing a coronet.
