La pintora Artemisia Gentileschi realiza entre 1633-35 también una pintura centrándose en la figura de Cleopatra, pero no pretende mostrar el drama de la mordedura. Todo ya ha ocurrido y dos sirvientas encuentran como su cuerpo yace muerto en la cama, semidesnudo y con la serpiente como algo anecdótico.
