24 de ago. de 2020 · Aston Webb Student Hub. Opened to students from autumn 2015, the new Aston Webb Student Hub sits at the heart of the University campus. The Hub boasts a modern reception with an interactive booking system, an information zone and a suite of one-to-one consultation rooms.

University of Birmingham. Sir Aston Webb, GCVO, CB, RA, FRIBA (22 May 1849 – 21 August 1930) was a British architect who designed the principal facade of Buckingham Palace and the main building of the Victoria and Albert Museum, among other major works around England, many of them in partnership with Ingress Bell.

Aston Webb’s grand semi-circle of buildings conceived for Birmingham university in 1900 was the original redbrick campus. But only four of its five neo-Byzantine pavilions were ever built. Now Glenn Howells Architects and Bam have finished the job.

New expectations had been raised for campus architecture as well. But Webb & Bell's original buildings are still the iconic ones here, the ones that best reflect this new milestone in British university life, born out of Victorian aspirations and realised by men of vision in a variety of fields.
