Hace 6 días · First published as separate books in the 1940s, The Magic Bedknob and Bonfires and Broomsticks by Mary Norton were published as an omnibus edition, Bedknob and Broomstick. This title then became that of the film, with added plurals (I don’t know why – there is only one knob and one stick!)
3 de may. de 2024 · In my head this was as much a masterpiece as Mary Poppins and that’s clearly what it’s trying to be but it just can’t recapture the magic. Still very much enjoyed revisiting it though. Lansbury is a great lead and the special effects/animation sequences have a lot of charm.
