•Months before the film was released, it was always considered that "Lee" was Heather's last name. However, when the special featurette "Remaking of Black Christmas" hit televisions, Mary Elizabeth Winstead revealed the character she had portrayed was Heather Fitzgerald. Since then, there had been a whole lot of confusion with her last name. In the end, it was considered her full name was Heather Lee-Fitzgerald to fulfill both sides of the story.
•Mary Elizabeth Winstead had previously worked on Final Destination 3 also released in 2006 with Crystal Lowe who plays Lauren in this film. Kristen Cloke, who plays Leigh Colvin, portrayed Valerie Lewton in the first Final Destination film.

•A deleted scene that was posted on Youtube showed Heather Trying to start the car, But then she senses that somethings not right, She turns her head to see Billy Lenz holding his knife. She screams in horror as Billy brings down the knife that she manages to dodge in time. She then pleads for Barbara MacHenry to open the door but she can't hear her because she's busy wiping the snow off the windscreen, Billy then stabs Heather a bunch a times and eventually stabs the knife into her back Before stabbing her again as she screams. Barbara hears Heather screaming and gets confused, After a bunch of stabs, Heather is out of breath and Billy finishes her off by stabbing her hard causing Heather to let out her last scream and squirt blood all over the windscreen. Barbara backs away as Billy gets out of the car and walks towards her as she whimpers in fear, Billy then pulls out an icicle as Barbara screams bloody murder before Billy stabs her with the icicle offscreen.
•Heather, along with Megan Helms, and Dana Mathis appear to have no clear parallel to any character from the original film, although Heather might be loosely based on Clare Harrison because both are very high strung and disapprove of the way the sorority girls handle the calls
