Bridget Hayward, 21-year-old daughter of the late Margaret Sullavan, the actress, apparently committed suicide by an overdose of sleeping pills, the police said yesterday.
Brief Life History of Bridget. Bridget Hayward was the daughter of actress Margaret Sullavan and theatrical agent Leland Hayward. She was in and out of mental institutions in her teens, and worked at the Williamstown Theatre as an apprentice.

She “succumbed to a recurrent, unexplained illness marked by epileptic seizures and bouts of severe depression” and her death at age 21 is considered to be a suicide.

Hayward had a younger sister, Bridget, who died of a drug overdose, and a brother, producer William Hayward III, known as "Bill Hayward", who committed suicide. When Hayward was seven years old, the family moved to a farm in Brookfield, Connecticut. Hayward's parents divorced in April 1948.
