I suggest changing "The county has 31 municipalities, which consist of 24 incorporated cities and many unincorporated areas." to some other word after "31", such as community. This is because a municipality is an incorporated form of local government; https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/municipality.Definition of municipality1 : a primarily urban political unit having corporate (see corporate sense 1a) status and usually powers of self-government Elections were held in the municipality.2 : the governing body of a municipality The municipality approved the budget for the year. I didn't feel the change should be made without discussion. Cheers71.210.34.57 (talk) 17:55, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

Um. Do we really need a listing for a town with no residents??? :) -- April18:21 Nov 27, 2002 (UTC) 1. I am reliably informed that there are cities with a population of 94 so I see no reason why such a major conurbation such as this should not be included... :-) user:sjc Just because a place doesn't have any residents doesn't mean it isn't important. Most major central buisness districs in American downtown areas also have 0 residents. --mav

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/broward/sfl-ccensus04aug04,0,2122776.story Minorities become a majority in Broward Caribbean, Latin American population altering demographics By Alva James-Johnson & Robin BenedickSouth Florida Sun-SentinelAugust 4, 2006 Blacks, Hispanics and other minorities, whose numbers have been steadily growing in Broward County, are now the majority, a statistical milestone that could significantly affect everything from politics to education in the coming years. The non-Hispanic white population in Broward, which was 58.3 percent as recently as 2000, is now 49.9 percent, a slip of more than 8 percentage points in just five years, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report released today. That's a dramatic change from 1990, when three out of four Broward residents were non-Hispanic whites. The number of minority residents in the county is expected to reach about 63 percent by 2030, according to independent estimates by state officials. The total county pop...

I think we should add some pictures to this page to show off this beautiful county we live in, maybe some pictures of Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hillsboro Inlet?

A section on the government should be added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.149.123.43 (talk) Ditto Broward County Transit. B.Wind10:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

The current article states:"Broward County leads the nation with AIDS cases, with 58.4 new AIDS cases per 100,000 people." Where is the source for this, honestly I haven't been able to find this statistic any where else... 1. This, perhaps? At least for the 'leads the nation' claim. The article also calls the accuracy of the numbers into question. -- Donald Albury20:50, 8 November 2006 (UTC) I'm going to add some information about this right now. It's pretty important to the area, maybe someone reading the page will actually go get tested. Foxyhues (talk) 20:52, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Broward County, Florida → Fort Lauderdale-Broward County, Florida — Starring November 6, 2012 voters will be changed the name of the county from Broward to Fort Lauderdale-Broward to acknowledge the international name recognition of Fort Lauderdale. 70.238.118.38 (talk) 05:38, 6 June 2009 (UTC) 1. Please provide the evidence for this. However, regardless of the evidence I think it's too early to move the article to the new name based on an election over three years away. With proper sourcing however, the information should be included in the article. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:46, 6 June 2009 (UTC) 1. I think the proposal is completely unwarranted. Both Ft. Lauderdale and Broward County have national name recognition, and there are quite a few cities in Broward that AREN'T Ft. Lauderdale that also have national name recognition. This would be a terribly confusing move. Foxyhues (talk) 21:24, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

This article is useless as it's made for a highly unknown county. It's a waste of valuable Wikipedia real estate and should be deleted. Thank you. -MagicalTrevor — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:30A:2E0A:AEF0:6103:8228:FF43:1FDB (talk) 16:53, 28 April 2014 (UTC) Is there anyway to delete MagicalTrevor's comments? They are highly flammatory and appear to be the work of someone who is 'trolling' Wikipedia. I did want to bring up that there was no mention of the debate between 2 Live Crew and former Sheriff Nick Navarro that received national attention in the 1980s. Someone with better web skills should add that on to this page. Thank you Ed S. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.217.190.154 (talk) 02:59, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

There's a separate Wikipedia page dedicated just to neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale. I wonder if it should be merged somehow with the Neighborhoods section on this page. Thought? Foxyhues (talk) 22:14, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

I know I just posted, but I was thinking about how Broward County is pretty much nationally famous for the introduction of drugs like spice, flakka, bath salts, and even though most of them have been shut down, the pill mills. That information should be included. Also, the first season of COPS was filmed in Broward. We should put that on the page, too. Foxyhues (talk) 22:17, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
