Caroline Mathilde von Hannover , war eine englische Prinzessin und von 1766 bis 1772 als Ehefrau von Christian VII. Königin von Dänemark und Norwegen. Anfang 1772 wurde sie wegen ihrer Affäre mit dem Leibarzt Johann Friedrich Struensee geschieden und nach Celle verbannt, wo sie von ihren Kindern getrennt bis zu ihrem frühen Tod lebte.
