23 de ago. de 2018 · Constantine X Doukas was the ruler of the Byzantine Empire from 1059 to 1067 CE. During his reign, the Byzantine Empire was attacked by emerging enemies on all sides, including the Normans in Italy and the Seljuk Turks in Armenia and Anatolia.

The paper examines two fragments of the chapter № 42 of the Byzantine treatise X c. “De Administrando Imperio” of the Emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus. These fragments date back to the source of the beginning of the Xth century to the time of Emperor Leo VI the Wise.
Constantine X Ducas (born c. 1006—died May 22/23, 1067) was the Byzantine emperor from 1059 to 1067, successor to Isaac I Comnenus. Constantine’s accession was a triumph for the civil aristocracy and was unfortunate in that he proved an incapable emperor.
