It’s really awkward in mass fights, it also needs counterattack rebalance (by both enemies and you; maybe making counterattacks more difficult to perform by requiring choosing correct counterattack direction or smth, otherwise it is OP like counterattacks in assassin’s creed, rendering other combat mechanics much less useful by comparison).
