Introducción. El Capitolio es el edificio que acoge al Congreso de los Estados Unidos, formado por la Cámara de Representantes y la Cámara del Senado. Con el paso de los años el Capitolio ha llegado a convertirse en un símbolo de libertad y democracia para el país. También es un gran exponente del estilo neoclásico americano.
Inicialmente se delimitó un cuadrado de 16 kilómetros con los ejes situados en los cuatro puntos cardinales mostrándose en plano con una forma romboidal o de diamante como algunos quisieron apreciar haciendo ciertas similitudes con esta última forma.
