More than six decades later, the soul legend opens with it here – although at 83 her voice understandably sounds more frail and vulnerable, giving new and moving meaning to the line “accept me for what I am”.

  4. Hace 18 horas · I’ve only really dug deeply into her ‘60s and early ‘70s catalog as a result of Ms. Warwick becoming a very unlikely Twitter celebrity. There are a lot of gems in that catalog, and “Anyone Who Had a Heart” is one of the shiniest gems. ‘80s Dionne’s vibe was very unbothered , so hearing her go full throttle (relative to her later work) is a treat.
