1968. Donald Judd. American, 1928–1994. An influential practitioner of what would come to be called—much to his chagrin— Minimalism, Donald Judd preferred to describe his often sleek, industrially fabricated works as “specific objects,” neither painting nor sculpture as understood traditionally.
This piece was fabricated in 1967 by Bernstein Brothers Sheet Metal Specialties, Inc., a sheet metal shop in New York that Donald Judd worked with for much of his life.
