The couple had an acrimonious relationship at this point, and Campbell was living in the Norma Place house in a little area behind a wall of bookcases.
Alan K. Campbell (February 21, 1904 – June 14, 1963) was an American writer, stage actor, and screenwriter. He and his wife, Dorothy Parker, were a popular screenwriting team in Hollywood from 1934 to 1963. Life and career. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he was the only child of Harry L. Campbell and his wife Hortense Eichel Campbell.

In 1932, Parker met Alan Campbell, an actor hoping to become a screenwriter. They married two years later in Raton, New Mexico . Campbell's mixed parentage was the reverse of Parker's: he had a German-Jewish mother and a Scottish father.
