  3. A pre-war building sits on 300 Central Park West on the Upper West Side. The building, built in 1930, is the brainchild of Emery Roth, an American architect responsible for the creation of numerous Beaux-Arts and Art Deco buildings and hotels in the 1920s and 1930s. This specific building, however, was converted into a co-op in 1982.
