Foggy Day is a daytime phase. It was added during the 2.4 update along with Blood Nights.
Foggy Days occur every 15 days (formerly starting at Day 16). On any other day, there is a one in one-hundred (100) chance of a foggy day. Before 2.5, Foggy Days occurred on Day 15, making Foggy Days occur every 15 days starting on day 16, however, Foggy Days now occur every 15 days starting on day 15 once again.
In the transition to Foggy Day, a unique sound plays, most likely the sound of lights turned on. This sound is the exact same as the sound that plays in the transition to a normal Day.
During a Foggy Day, as the name suggests, the surroundings are foggy and murky. It becomes difficult to see things from a distance. A more intense theme plays instead of the usual daytime music themes. Compared to a normal Day's fog, Foggy Day has a gradient color instead of a solid color, fading from near-white to grey.
During a Foggy Day, your vision becomes greatly obscured. Due to your visual impairments, it will be harder to locate bases (unless you have a waypoint) and materials, and it will be easier to fall off of sky bases.
If you have a base, simply crouch and stay close to the light. If you're able to, try to remove all easy entrances and exits. If you have a sky base, it'll be easier, but also the teeniest bit harder. Since workers are slow, they'll never be able to get up to you. But since you can't see, it's super easy to fall. If you don't have a base, try the wardrobe hack with a light. (Located in the Survival Guide of the Wiki)
•Daytime phases, such as Days and Foggy Days, are a minute longer than Nighttime phases.
•Including the guarantee of a Foggy Day which occurs every 15th day, the rate of a Foggy Day happening is approximately 8%, compared to a base chance of 1% (more precise rate is around 7.60%.)
•Employees deal more damage in this Day Cycle.
•Before Update 2.5, a Foggy Day and a Blood Night can happen on the same day every 30 days. (30, 60, 90, 120 and so on.)
