17 de abr. de 2023 · Galileo was born in Pisa (then part of the Duchy of Florence), Italy, the first of six children of Vincenzo Galilei, a famous lutenist, composer and music theorist, and Giulia Ammannati. Four of their six children survived infancy, and the youngest Michelangelo (or Michelagnolo) also became a noted lutenist and composer.

Galileo Galilei ( Pisa, 15 de febrero de 1564 4 - Arcetri, 8 de enero de 1642) 1 5 fue un astrónomo, ingeniero, 6 7 matemático 8 y físico italiano, relacionado estrechamente con la revolución científica. Eminente hombre del Renacimiento, mostró interés por casi todas las ciencias y artes ( música, literatura, pintura ).
Allí conocería a Marina Gamba de Venecia, quien se convertiría en la madre de sus tres hijos: Virginia Galilei (1600), Livia Galilei (1601) y Vincenzo Galilei (1606). Ambos, Marina y Galileo , mantendrían una relación secreta e informal (nunca contrajeron matrimonio) por un periodo de 20 años.

He was the eldest of six children, four of whom survived childhood: Galileo, his brother Michelangelo – who followed in Vincenzo’s footsteps and became a lutenist – and his sisters Virginia and Livia.
Hence, Galileo remained lord over Maria Celeste and therefore was owed the respect given by her. While his daughters were still very young, Galileo secured places for Virginia (later Suor Maria Celeste) and Livia (later Suor Arcangela) in the convent at San Matteo in Arcetri, a few miles from Florence.
