But Hitler was realising that he could not achieve power by alienating corporate business such as Krupp and Thyssen, and had started to peddle his vision of a pure, conservative (Wagnerian) Germany, purged of greedy, sinister Jews.

Gregor Strasser (31 May 1892 – 30 June 1934) was an early prominent German Nazi official and politician who was murdered during the Night of the Long Knives in 1934. Born in 1892 in Bavaria, Strasser served in World War I in an artillery regiment, rising to the rank of first lieutenant.

He failed in this and in 1934 Strasser paid the price for what Hitler considered a betrayal. Gregor Strasser was born on May 31st 1892. He served in World War One and was given a commission. Strasser ended the war as a lieutenant.
Otto Johann Maximilian Strasser (Windsheim, 10 september 1897 – München, 27 augustus 1974) was een Duits nationaalsocialistisch, later nationaal-revolutionair politicus; tevens was hij de broer van Gregor Strasser.
