The first part of this publication contextualizes Caillebotte’s work among that of other Impressionist artists, dwells on Caillebotte’s interest in sailing, and highlights the breadth of his sources of inspiration.

Gustave Caillebotte ( París, 19 de agosto de 1848- Gennevilliers, 21 de febrero de 1894) fue un pintor francés de influencia impresionista, coleccionista, mecenas y organizador de exposiciones. Falleció a la edad de cuarenta y cinco años y está enterrado en el cementerio del Père-Lachaise, en París .
