Langenburg ist eine Stadt im fränkisch geprägten Nordosten Baden-Württembergs in der Region Hohenlohe und gehört zum Landkreis Schwäbisch Hall. Urkundlich erwähnt wurde die Stadt erstmals 1226. On our last day of our two weeks tour of Germany we stopped at Schloss Langenburg and were pleasantly surprised. What a lovely place! This castle belongs to the noble Hohenlohe family and has everything to please your eye: elegant interior, vintage car museum and spectacular grounds with meticulously manicured flowerbeds of a typical French garden.
The district was first surveyed by the federal government in 1880. Around 1886, the train station was named "Langenburg" after the town of Langenburg in Germany following the Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg's visit to western Canada and his recommendation that the area was suitable for a German settlement.
