29 de jun. de 2013 · On 29th June 1509, just two months after the death of her son, Henry VII, and the accession of her grandson, Henry VIII, Lady Margaret Beaufort died at the age of sixty-six. Her good friend, John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester, attended the dying Margaret and was able to perform last rites.

Margaret whose husband, Lord Stafford died at the battle, realised the severity of the situation and thus implored Jasper Tudor to taker her son Henry abroad to safety. This he did, an act which led to her not seeing her son for another fourteen years.
