Their shared passion for acting quickly kindled a brief, yet intense romance. Despite their obvious attraction, the couple's relationship was relatively short-lived, as both stars found solace in other romantic interests.
Ida Lupino was born in 1918, while Vivien Leigh was born in 1913. So Ida would have been 21 years old during filming. Leigh was 26 during filming. I don't believe that age would be an issue. Lupino was in High Sierra only 2 year later in a major role along with Bogart and she did well in the context of more experienced performers.

She produced eight films, all of which dealt with complex, taboo subjects like unwed motherhood and bigamy. She prided herself on being a "bulldozer" in business meetings but took a more nurturing approach with her cast and crew on set. ©
