El primer retrato de Stravinsky por Picasso fue realizado en Roma “en el Hôtel de la Russie, cerca de la Piazza del Popolo, donde se hospedaban muchos de los bailarines del ballet, entre ellos la futura esposa de Picasso, Olga.”
Si Picasso representó la revolución en las artes visuales del siglo xx, Ígor Stravinski lideró una revuelta similar en las artes de la música. En esta colaboración con los alumnos de la Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, exploramos la obra de este compositor con un concierto en torno a la exposición « Picasso.
No solo fue el compositor principal para Serguéi Diáguilev de los Ballets Rusos, sino que también colaboró con Pablo Picasso (Pulcinella, 1920), Jean Cocteau (Oedipus Rex, 1927) y George Balanchine (Apollon Musagete, 1928).

From 1917 to 1920, the two engaged in an artistic dialogue in which they exchanged small-scale works of art to each other as a sign of intimacy, which included the famous portrait of Stravinsky by Picasso, and a short sketch of clarinet music by Stravinsky.
