Isabel Marshal (9 October 1200 – 17 January 1240) was a medieval English countess. She was the wife of both Gilbert de Clare, 4th Earl of Hertford and 5th Earl of Gloucester and Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall (son of King John of England ). With the former, she was a great grandmother of King Robert the Bruce of Scotland .

Isabel Marshal (9 October 1200 – 17 January 1240). She married firstly, Gilbert de Clare, 4th Earl of Hertford; and secondly, Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall. She had issue by both marriages. King Robert I of Scotland and Queen consorts Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr were descendants.
When Isabel de Clare was born in 1172, in Pembroke Castle, Pembrokeshire, Wales, her father, Richard de Clare 2nd Earl of Pembroke, was 42 and her mother, Aoife MacMurchada Princess of Leinster, was 27. She married William Marshal 1st Earl of Pembroke on 8 August 1189, in London, England.
She is a figure that graces our history books alongside her husband William Marshal also referred to as The Marshal. She is immortalized in history books, texts, romantic fiction and now forever remembered in the work of art that is the Ros Tapestry.
