Johannes Itten. (Süder-Linden, 1888 - Zurich, 1967) Pintor suizo. Estuvo estrechamente vinculado a la escuela alemana conocida como Bauhaus, de la que fue uno de sus miembros fundadores. Comenzó sus estudios en 1904, e ingresó en un seminario sobre profesorado en Berna.

Johannes Itten destacó tanto por su producción artística como por su labor docente y teórica. Suizo de nacimiento, pasó gran parte de su vida en Alemania, donde se relacionó con la vanguardia artística y colaboró intensamente como profesor en la Bauhaus. Tras formarse como maestro, en 1909 decidió convertirse en pintor.
