His record at every other major championship was equally impressive. At the NCAAs, Naber won 10 individual and five relay titles and at the AAUs, he won 18 individual and seven relay titles.

John Naber (born Jan. 20, 1956, Evanston, Ill., U.S.) is an American swimmer who won four gold medals—all in world-record time—and a silver at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Primarily a specialist in the backstroke, Naber competed at the University of Southern California, where he won 15 collegiate championships.
