Kingdom of Württemberg. The Kingdom of Württemberg ( German: Königreich Württemberg [ˌkøːnɪkʁaɪç ˈvʏʁtəmbɛʁk]) was a German state that existed from 1805 to 1918, located within the area that is now Baden-Württemberg. The kingdom was a continuation of the Duchy of Württemberg, which existed from 1495 to 1805. [2]

The flag of Baden-Württemberg, a state in Germany, has three variants. The civil flag ( Landesflagge ) has one design, while the state flag ( Landesdienstflagge ), has two designs. All three flags are a black over gold bi-color, while the state flag has one of two variants of the state arms centered on the flag. [1]

Wurttemberg became a Kingdom on 1st January 1806 and on the 25th of that month, six infantry regiments were created by adding second battalions to the existing Musketeer units. The first battalions of these new regiments retained the old Ducal or Electoral pattern colours whilst the newly raised second battalions were presented with the first of a series of patterns of Royal Colours.
