Nestled at the base of Pu'u Pa'upa'u (Hill of Struggle), Lahainaluna Seminary was founded in 1831 by the American missionaries with the intent of creating a high school to educate the greater population. This was made possible with the tract of land gifted to Lahainaluna by Chiefess Kalakua Hoapiliwahine, wife of Governor Hoapili.

  3. 2 de feb. de 2020 · Lahainaluna was transferred from being operated by the American missionaries to the control of the Hawaiian Monarchy in 1849. By 1864, only Lahainaluna graduates were considered qualified to hold government positions such as lawyers, teachers, district magistrates and other important posts.

  6. 2016 Legends of Lahainaluna. The 2016 Legends of Lahainaluna Awards Ceremony was held on April 3, 2016, once again at the Historic Pioneer Inn. Reverend Sheldon Dibble, a former teacher at what was then Lahainaluna Seminary, was inducted as the Posthumous Award recipient. Rev. Dibble's award was accepted by his great (x5) grandson, via video.
