London Eye Thamesilta nähtynä.. London Eye (suom. ”Lontoon silmä”) on Thamesjoen rannalla Lontoossa sijaitseva maailmanpyörä, joka avattiin vuonna 1999.Sen virallisia nimiä ovat sponsorisopimusten myötä olleet vuosien varrella British Airways London Eye, Merlin Entertainments London Eye, vuodet 2011–2014 EDF Energy London Eye ja vuosina 2015–2019 Coca-Cola London Eye.
Ursprünglich sollte das London Eye lediglich fünf Jahre stehen bleiben. Der Erfolg ließ es jedoch überdauern. Kein Wunder: Mit seinen 135 Metern Höhe ist es das größte Riesenrad Europas – und immerhin das viertgrößte der Welt. In seinen 32 bodentief verglasten, klimatisierten Gondeln bewegt es vollbesetzt ca. 660 Gäste.

20 de nov. de 2001 · The London Eye was originally intended as a temporary attraction, with a five-year lease. In December 2001, operators submitted an application to Lambeth Council to give the London Eye permanent status, and the application was granted in July 2002. On 5 June 2008 it was announced that 30 million people had ridden the London Eye since it opened.
The London Eye ofrece unas vistas panorámicas impresionantes, tanto de la ciudad como del campo. Los días claros es posible alcanzar una visibilidad de 40 kilómetros a la redonda aunque, si hay demasiado sol, la claridad impide ver algunas partes de la ciudad.
