History. Luxembourg established official diplomatic relations with the Nanking government of the Republic of China in 1949. After losing the Chinese Civil War, relations continued in the island of Taiwan and Luxembourg continued to recognize the ROC government as a recognized representative of China as is other Western nations.

In 2022, Luxembourg exported $293M to China. The main products exported from Luxembourg to China were Non-woven Textiles ($60.1M), Copper Foil ($45.6M), and Valves ($28.4M). During the last 23 years the exports of Luxembourg to China have increased at an annualized rate of 6.93%, from $62.7M in 1999 to $293M in 2022.
