Le 24 janvier 1953, Marie Dénarnaud, comme l'abbé Saunière avant elle, eut une attaque cérébrale la laissant muette et paralysée sur son lit de mort. Elle décéda 5 jours plus tard, le 29 janvier 1953 sans prononcer un mot, au grand désespoir de Noël Corbu. Elle avait 85 ans.

The details of Marie Dénarnaud's debts when they were finally settled by Noël Corbu in 1946 were published by Claire Corbu and Antoine Captier in their book L'Héritage de l'Abbé Saunière in 1985 – 30 years ago. Their book gave the names of the people she borrowed money from and how much money she owed.
